Kestner Wood Products is taking sustainability to a whole new level with a very special service.

If you are planning on clearing your property of trees, those trees could have a brand new life for many decades to come. Consider having them made into flooring or paneling for your home.

Here’s how the service works:
  • Trees must be 14 to 24 inches in diameter at breast height.
  • In order to produce enough usable wood, you must have 10 or more trees
    that are all the same species that are straight and free of metal (nails or old
    fencing, etc.).
  • If you believe your trees meet those standards, take several digital
    photographs and email them to Kestner Wood Products.
  • Based on your photos, we can determine for which products your trees are
    best suited. You can view samples in our showroom or on-line in our
    photo gallery.
  • Before making a decision to proceed, we recommend a meeting in our
    showroom to more thoroughly discuss the process, the costs and the products
    you can expect.

Our services begin with sawn lumber once it has been delivered to
Kestner Wood Products in Portersville and include:
         • Free evaluation and estimate for the work
         • Referring to a qualified logger and sawmill to turn your trees into lumber
         • Drying the lumber in our kilns
         • Manufacturing your tongue and groove paneling or flooring
         • Sanding, staining and lacquering your new paneling
         • Installing and finishing your new floors

If you are building a new home, inform your builder about what you would like to do with your trees at an early date.  Most builders will include lot clearance in their contracts.  You may be able to work with them to have your trees cut into logs.

finished product.
